Advanced Construction Technologies
Advanced Construction Technologies Limited (ACTL) was established in 2018 to develop their innovative integrated roof concept – initially as a feasibility project, followed by a successful industrial development phase.
ACTL has created a fully integrated roof cassette, designed to serve as either a complete roof for new-build homes or a full replacement for existing roofs in retrofit projects. With a beta-stage product prototype now developed, ACTL is ready to engage with the construction sector, including social housing providers and landlords, to explore large-scale retrofit opportunities.
The innovation: Power Roof
Power-Roof is a fully integrated, factory-built roof cassette that delivers a complete standing seam weatherproof layer, and incorporates photovoltaic (PV) panels that can cover up to 85% of the roof’s surface. It spans over 8 metres from gable to ridge without the need for additional structural support.
Beneath its weatherproof layer and PV panels, an eco-conscious system efficiently harvests heat, supporting systems like heat pumps, hot water cylinders, or MVHR to improve efficiency and cost savings.
With a 60-year design life, Power-Roof is built for longevity, sustainability, and a net-zero future.
It was a pleasure to learn about Power Roof’s groundbreaking technology at Futurebuild and the potential their integrated roof systems have to reshape the construction industry. By seamlessly combining photovoltaic panels with an eco-conscious heat-harvesting system, Power Roof delivers both energy efficiency and long-term sustainability for buildings.
Power Roof’s innovative design showcases the power of advanced engineering to create smart, durable solutions that contribute to a net zero future. We look forward to seeing how their products continue to push the boundaries of what’s possible in building technology.
